Best family video games to play in a party (Part 4)

Streets of Rogue

Whilst Streets of Rogue hasn’t had a final release, you can choose to play the Early Access version on Windows, or Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows, OS X and Linux which will be made available soon in the future. Having both online and local cooperative modes, you’ll find that Streets of Rogue is a bit of a combination of various genres. If you are fan of the rogue aspects of FTL, but wanted to mixe it more with an RPG, then Streets of Rogue is perfect choice. A procedurally generated city is waiting for you and three other buddies, and provides you the opportunity to do whatever you want to in the game from running around and avoid killing everyone, or becoming a hacker? It’s all possible. Interested in going on a rampage? Also possible. Just beware that you need both cash and chicken nuggets to play the game.

Enter the Gungeon

Similar to Streets of Rogue above, Enter the Gungeon is a roguelike game that has been made available on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows, OS X and Linux, with a Switch version is in progress. Different from every other game on the list so far, Enter the Gungeon is considered as a bullet hell shooter – you have to shoot overwhelming amounts of bullets all across the screen while killing everyone appears on screen. Enter the Gungeon combines things by changing the layout of the titular Gungeon with other game you play. It’s only a 2 player cooperation game, but it’s still a great time for you and a friend to spend time with each other

With this list, you now can challenge your friends and family in competing in multiplayer mode. Enjoy everything from action games to cool adventure games where you can show off your amazing skills.

Best family video games to play in a party (Part 1)

In the past, if you liked to play a game with your friends, you’d have to call them to your house, gather around the TV and set up on the console. This was common by the time you own a Nintendo 64 with controllers to serve four people which was a great combination with crisps and fizzy drinks to some interesting gaming sessions.

Then online gaming became more prevalent, gamers become an argumentative and competitive bunch. Just talk anybody who was forced into playing a Halo pistol duel to witness who was the most skilled. But despite all the conflicts, we’ve still be able to keep a sense of community throughout the years. In this post, there is a list of family-friendly games for you to enjoy at a party for multiplayer fun with your family or friends for happy holidays together.

1. Overcooked

Overcooked is available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One as well as Nintendo Switch version. Overcooked is a multiplayer games you can play with your mates in which four players control chefs who go around a kitchen and prepare food. It sounds fairly simple but deceptively difficult as the levels increase with new obstacles force players to cooperate to get the high score. The game is highly recommended as it’s an addictive cooperative game that can be played by anyone.

2. Lego Dimensions

Lego Dimensions is available on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, as well as the Wii U. If you’ve played any of the other Lego games, then you’ll understand exactly what attracts you to Lego Dimensions, as its composition is very similar to the other Lego games. If you’ve never played any of them before, then you will play as a Lego character, with a partner either online or sitting next to you, together you beat up bad guys, solve puzzles, and build lots of Lego designs. Lego Dimensions is a great journey across 27 different franchises, in which players can purchase characters and worlds to play as their Lego selves. It’s always good fun combining Gandalf and B.A. Baracus from the A-Team, and get them cause chaos in a Lego world. Advised for the replayability on offer with many different packages available.
